Theroux Shows Papers
by

Travel writer Paul Theroux has a great piece over at the Daily Beast this morning on the real world meaning of “show me your papers.” Having traveled the world, he tells of how in one country after another he has been asked to produce his papers. Beginning in his own country — that would be America. And his family has been here since 1690. It answers all this left-wing Nazi business with a very experienced precision. Train trip in Italy, anyone? Take a read. (Hat tip to TAS reader Ron Leon.)
