Why might Mitt Romney wind up the nominee of a Republican Party
that is conspicuously immune to his charms? Because the
conservative opposition is disorganized and underfunded. That is
the challenge faced today by Romney’s strongest conservative
challenger, Rick Santorum.
Santorum failed to submit a full slate of delegates in either
Ohio, where he could miss out on as many as 18 delegates, or
Tennessee, both states he might win. (Santorum has led in both
places, though polls show the races tightening.) Santorum failed to
make the ballot in Virginia, where he could have conceivably beaten
Romney. Super Tuesday is the first time the campaigns will compete
in multiple states at once. Instead of televised debates, the
airwaves are filled with ad wars. This plays to Romney’s
advantage.
Romney’s strategy has always been to outspend and out-hustle
Santorum. (Even if Newt Gingrich makes yet another comeback, he has
the same structural problems as Santorum.) This strategy seems to
be having an impact. That doesn’t mean that all is lost. Santorum
seems almost certain to win Oklahoma, and could still walk away
with some big prizes tonight, denying Romney the aura of
inevitability he has been trying to reclaim since going on a recent
primary and caucus winning streak.
Can Santorum rally the palpable conservative opposition to
Romney and overcome his organizational deficits? Or will he lose
the big states and watch even some conservatives who don’t want to
vote for Romney turn to the former Massachusetts governor as the
GOP’s only change against the well-funded, well-organized Barack
Obama? That’s the big question today.

Why would the Republicans nominate the unwanted and unloved Mittens Romney?
Because the Republican Leadership is openly conspiring with the Democrats through their propaganda arm, the MSM, to contain, thwart, marginalize and expunge the Conservatives.
Face facts, Obama is doing everything the Ruling Class asked for him to do.
He has done a bang-up job of looting the Middle-Class to spend the money on the Ruling Class through the Federal Government accounts.
As co-mangers of Federal Government spending, the Republican Party Leadership has greatly benefited from Obama's outlandish spending.
The Republican Leadership certainly does not want the drastic cutbacks in spending the Conservatives are demanding.
Thus the Republican Leadership is going to nominate a person with identical beliefs to a Democratic Liberal to keep the Federal spending machine going at full throttle.
Both Parties hidden adage and most sacred principal is::::
“Let The Good Times Roll On Forever.”
Mittens the Manager can deliver that.
So He gets the job if Obama fails the Ruling Class.

No, Mittens is the pin stripped progressive. His record proclaims it loudly and proudly. No amount of words will make his progressive record into a conservative one. No amount of mea culpas are sincere. Its who Mittens is. Oh the mainstream Repbs. can pretend otherwise, but they're just kidding themselves. Like the ostrich who puts his head in the sand thinking the problem has gone away.

James,
God bless you! You seem to be resolved that Santorum is not going to get the nomination and are providing excuses as to why he will fail or, from the tenor of your article, has failed. Hang in there, brother.
