Fine job by our George Neumayr this a.m. pinning the tail on a leftist donkey trying to fly under the political radar. Joe Biden has been attempting to pass as a “moderate” while at the same time embracing every leftist phantasm to come down the pike. (George supplies us with a list of these in his column.) There’s not been a liberal hobby-horse Joe hasn’t ridden hard and put up wet. And during this campaign he’s apologized for the few sensible positions he’s taken over the decades that he’s been feeding at the public trough. He’s a moderate about like Jeffrey Dahmer was a vegan. He’s as crazy left as the rest of the Dem candidates, and dumb as a bag of hammers into the bargain.
Lefties couldn’t get away with this moderate ruse without a compliant mainstream media. In Florida both former U.S. Senator Bill Nelson and the late Lawton Chiles, who was Florida’s governor after serving in the Senate, benefited from this ideological sleight-of-hand. They were both consistently referred to by Florida reporters and editorial writers as moderates while they consistently racked-up leftist voting records. As far as I could see, the only moderate credentials these two could claim were they had good-ole-boy accents and didn’t wear Che Guevara T-shirts on the Senate floor.
It’s past time to cancel Crazy Joe’s counterfeit moderate ticket, and it’s fitting that this public service begins at The American Spectator, as so many good things do.
