Clint Eastwood is 84 today — Saturday. (And he can still kick your butt.)
I hope TAS readers will join me in a big Happy Birthday to the man with the million-dollar squint. And this would be a good time to thank Clint for the parade of memorable on-screen characters he’s brought to life over the decades: Dirty Harry Callahan, Walt Kowalski, Bronco Billy McCoy, Philoe Beddoe, “Gunny” Highway, et al. (apologies if I’ve left out any of your favorites — just pencil them in and read on).
In addition to his fine movie work, Clint has also turned out to be the best interviewer of empty chairs in the history of the republic.
