Quin, I’m with Jennifer on this one. I don’t see how Thompson-Romney makes sense on any level. Why would you want the guy whose selling point is executive competence in a subordinate position in which he isn’t the decider? Why would you want the chief executive to cede management responsibilities to his number two?
Also, why would Romney step aside after winning “one gold and three silvers,” just to play second fiddle to a candidate who hasn’t finished better than third place in a single state and is an underdog in South Carolina? For the good of the party? Please.
And you also are neglecting the fact that Thompson seems to hate Romney, and like McCain. I don’t see how that changes in the next few days.
