Marvel’s newest film, The Marvels, isn’t expected to do well at the box office. The movie, which cost a reported $200 million to produce, is supposed to make a measly $50–60 million — a low number by studio standards. Early reviews have called it “the worst MCU movie yet” and lambasted it for its dry script and repetitive storyline. (READ MORE: When Hollywoke Becomes a Joke, It’s Over)
But a Marvel flop should hardly come as a surprise. Not only was the film badly managed, but its marketing push suffered severely from a four-month-long actor’s strike that came to an end just this week. Most importantly, the film is bound to suffer from the same woke storylines that most of Disney’s recent releases have.
