Reactions like this from Tom Brokaw are exactly why Herman Cain’s smoking ad was so brilliant. If poor widdle Tommy Boy is upset by people smoking, it makes me more inclined to support smokers. It’s just disgusting for all the nimrod nannies out there to tell the rest of us what we can and cannot do.

I write this as somebody who has never, not even once, smoked anything — not a cigar, not a pipe, not a cigarette, and certainly nothing illegal. I can’t stand being couped up with tobacco smoke. But I’ll be [bleeped] if I’ll sit back and let somebody talk as if smoking is some sort of moral defect — or if smoking, for effect, in a video is somehow a public sin.

I say more power to Cain’s guy Mark Block for doing the ad. If Tom Brokaw doesn’t like it, he can go sit in the non-smoking section.
