A New Contract, for America?
by

Matt Lewis, has some great ideas for a Contract with America 2.0, at this link. Discuss amongst yourselves.

In the course of thinking about such things, though, congressional leaders would be incredibly stupid if they do NOT pay attention to the Contract FROM America, a grassroots efforts that tells Washington what we want, rather than having the Washington folks who screwed up so badly in the past make more top-down, “we know best” (even though they know next to nothing) proclamations.

If Beltway big-heads ignore the messages bubbling up from real America, they will never win and never deserve to win.

That said, I return to Matt’s list. I like most but not all the items on it. I am particularly concerned with his call for an explicit pledge for war (okay, regime change by force if necessary) with Iran if Iran has a nuclear weapon. There are times when at least a smidgen of opacity is warranted.

Speaking of nukes, though, Matt is absolutely right in his emphasis on developing more domestic nuclear power plants.

Again, read his list for yourself.
