What Am I Missing?

OK, what is it I’m missing? Two weeks ago, when the winning hand was putting the ball up and trying to put more points on the scoreboard, the Packers sent fullback over tackle three straight times. They lost the ball and the game. Sunday, when the winning hand was to hand the ball to the fullback and get out of his way, the Seahawks threw into traffic (very dense traffic indeed in the shadow of the goal post — jump ball territory). They lost the ball and the game. And, by the way, lost the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Obviously there’s a lot about play-calling in the NFL I don‘t understand.

I know, I know — anticipating the objections — both teams had 60 minutes to win the game. And the Patriots earned the win on many grounds. But that play was damned strange.
