In light of the latest from the most despicable mayor in the country, I hereby propose a law of general, neutral applicability. To wit: For all billionaires whose last names begin with the letter “B,” painkillers shall be limited to not more than one baby aspirin per day. If anybody within that neutrally defined class of citizens should be forced to “suffer a little bit,” well, so be it. The goals of good public policy — and what could be better than this? — sometimes require the few to suffer a little bit for the sake of the many.
