Now we can find out whether the voters who know him best support Romney. The Massachusetts primary was moved to February 5. Rudy has collected some high profile endorsements including former Gov. Paul Cellucci and Jim Rappaport, former state chair, who blasted Romney today but Romney has support from former Gov. Bill Weld as well as numerous state legislators and should be the clear frontrunner. (There is some polling showing how the GOP candidates each do against Hillary but I have yet to find a GOP primary poll.) That said, some mischief making opponents of Romney got the system changed from winner take all to a proportional system. Given the overlap between NH and Massachusetts media markets I don’t know that this will change much in terms of expenditures of time and money by the GOP contenders.
