Heat on Mann at Home

Pennsylvania State University's Climategate guy, hockey stick creator Michael Mann, has already come under scrutiny from the school over suspicions that he manipulated data to fit his global warming alarmism faith.

Pennsylvania State University's Climategate guy, hockey stick creator Michael Mann, has already come under scrutiny from the school over suspicions that he manipulated data to fit his global warming alarmism faith. For good measure state Senator Jeffrey Piccola, chairman of the Education Committee, wants to make sure PSU president Graham Spanier follows through, as he explained in a letter he sent today:

The allegations of intellectual and scientific fraud like those made against Dr. Mann are serious against anybody involved in academics, but the impact in this case is significantly elevated. The work of Dr. Mann and other scientists at the CRU is being used to develop economic and environmental policies in states and countries across the world. Considering the saliency of the work being conducted by the CRU, anything short of the pursuit of absolute science cannot be accepted or tolerated.

Piccola's take-home message for Spanier is if his investigation is a whitewash, then the PA Senate Education Committee will conduct its own look-see-find.

Hat tip: Commonwealth Foundation, which on Monday made their own request for an investigation of Mann.

The only science where the debate is over is political science.

If the investigation confirms that the following are accurate emails, it ought to be an open and shut case.

From: Phil Jones
To: “Michael E. Mann”
Subject: IPCC & FOI

Mike,
Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?
Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t
have his new email address.
We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.
I see that CA claim they discovered the 1945 problem in the Nature paper!!
Cheers
Phil

and the reply, the same day.

Hi Phil,

laughable that CA would claim to have discovered the problem. They would
have run off to the Wall Street Journal for an exclusive were that to
have been true.
I’ll contact Gene about this ASAP. His new email is: generwahl@xxxxxxx
talk to you later,
mike

One of the more interesting details in these email that has not yet been covered are the number of scienttists who warn, caution and outright complain about the Mann, Jones, et al's political agenda. Time and after time they are cautioned by their *peers* (to say nothing of MM) to tone it down, and that the science doesn't support their assertions. It is so completely clear that these two men, Mann and Jones, were never scientists at all - but rather zealous bureaucrats in the cult of their undertaking.

I am reading the emails now and Mann needs to be tried under RICO along with Gore. It is outrage after outrage.

We have had riots all over the world over this and Gore is still pushing his "civil disobedience" agenda, to push his agenda.

This amounts to yelling "FIRE!", in a crowded theater when you consider the zombies and thugs associated with the so called "green movement".

Gore also may be the only man on the planet to out smarmy Preacher Hucksterbee.
