White House, Wasserman-Schultz Smear Scalise

It looks like the Obama White House and DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz have put an Alinsky target on the back of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said, There’s no arguing that who Republicans decide to elevate into a leadership position says a lot about what the conference’s priorities and values are.” Earnest went on to say, “Ultimately, Mr. Scalise reportedly described himself as ‘David Duke without the baggage.”

Well, how about the repeated visits to the White House by racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton?

There’s no arguing that who President Obama decides to invite to the White House says a lot about what the Obama Administration’s priorities and values are.

It also hasn’t been verified that Scalise actually made the David Duke comment. But since when does the Obama Administration let the facts get in the way of an argument?

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz also weighed in. Here is part of her statement:

Anyone living in this century should have known better than to attend and speak at a white supremacist event, particularly one founded and led by David Duke, and Scalise’s explanation that he wasn’t aware isn’t credible by a long shot. But when House Republicans stand by him years later, and GOP White House hopefuls defend or refuse to speak out, they legitimize his actions. Republicans throughout the GOP, from members of Congress and state leaders to Reince Priebus and the burgeoning field of presidential candidates, should publicly condemn Scalise. Those who haven’t spoken out should be ashamed of their silence.

Before I comment on the above statement I must ask the following questions. Didn’t this woman preside over the Democratic Party’s worst showing in a Congressional election in nearly seven decades? How is it that she still chairs the DNC? Probably because she’s capable of making idiotic statements like the one above.

Wasserman-Schultz chastises House Republicans for standing with Scalise. But what about House Democrats like Cedric Richmond who have stood by Scalise? Richmond, an African-American Congressman from a neighboring district stated, “I don’t think Steve Scalise has a racist bone in his body.”

So who are you going to believe? Cedric Richmond or Debbie Wasserman-Schultz? This isn’t a tough call.
