Gallup is out with a new poll finding that by a 51 percent to 46 percent margin, Americans don’t believe President Obama deserves to be re-elected. Among independents, 53 percent say he doesn’t deserve to win re-election. The results haven’t changed that much over the past few months and 2012 is a long way off. Plus, to defeat Obama, Republicans would have to field a candidate worth voting for. But at the minimum, this is another reminder of how far Obama’s star has fallen since he entered office with sky high approval ratings. And it can’t be good news for Democrats as the look toward this November’s midterm elections.
