FBI Refuses to Release Document Alleging 17 Taped Conversations Between Biden Family and Burisma Official

by

Sen. Chuck Grassley said that the U.S. has “two standards of justice” while testifying that a Burisma executive allegedly has 17 taped conversations with the Biden family. Grassley said that the executive kept the conversations as an “insurance policy.”

On Monday, Grassley testified on the Senate floor regarding an unclassified 1023 document — a form the FBI uses for unverified reporting — that FBI Director Christopher Wray has been withholding from Congress. Grassley asserted that specific parts of the document regarding the Biden family’s involvement with Burisma, an Ukrainian energy company, were redacted despite the declassified status of the 1023. According to Grassley, the FBI’s release of the redacted 1023 to the House Oversight Committee occurred on the same day that the Department of Justice indicted and charged Trump with 37 crimes regarding classified records.

“Attorney General Garland signed off on prosecuting Trump for conduct similar to what Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton engaged in,” Grassley said. “Two standards of justice in this country will turn our constitutional republic upside down, thanks to the political infections within the Biden justice department and the FBI.”

Wall Street Journal reporter Alan Cullison writes that the Biden family’s involvement in Ukraine went back nine years.

“Soon after Moscow invaded the country in 2014 and annexed its peninsula of Crimea, Mr. Biden took a lead role in U.S. efforts to support the fragile government in Kiev,” Cullison notes. “He shuttled back and forth to the Ukrainian capital, coordinating U.S. aid packages and cajoling the officials to enact reforms even as the country fought off Russian-backed rebels in the country’s east.”

Margot Cleveland, senior legal correspondent for the Federalist, writes that Burisma official Mykola Zlochevksy “bribed the Bidens to influence policy decisions.”

“Zlochevsky, the founder of the Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma, had allegedly told a ‘highly credible’ CHS [confidential human source report], that he paid then-Vice President Biden $5 million and Hunter another $5 million to prompt the firing of a prosecutor looking into Burisma corruption,” Cleveland notes.

Cleveland also asserts that the payments pose a “serious national security risk.”

“The claims that Zlochevsky possessed recordings — not just of Hunter Biden, but also of ‘the Big Guy’— suggests we face a serious national security risk, with a compromised president potentially beholden to a blackmailer,” Cleveland writes.

Members of the Senate and others took to Twitter to express their concerns.

“We have learned of credible evidence that Joe Biden received a $5 million bribe from Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company,” Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted. “Now we’re told that there is evidence of that on audio tapes. These are allegations of serious conduct.”

Jack Posobiec, senior editor for Human Events, also highlighted Zlovchevsky’s role.

“He’s bribing Joe Biden to stop the guy who is investigating him for bribery in the first place,” Posobiec said

Greg Price, communications director for the State Freedom Caucus network, also expressed frustration with what he saw as different applications of justice.

“Realize how much of a farce the first Trump impeachment was now that we know Joe and Hunter each took $5 million in bribes from Burisma, the executive has 17 recordings discussing their deal, the DOJ hid them from the public (along with Hunter’s laptop), Biden was on tape bragging about firing the prosecutor investigating Burisma, and Pelosi impeached Trump because he simply asked Zelensky about this corruption,” Price tweeted
