DOJ Has Double Standard on Classified Documents
by

To borrow from former President Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright?

The Biden administration’s chickens have come home to roost.

First came the news last year that the Biden Department of Justice had sent the FBI to raid Mar-a-Lago, the home of President Donald Trump, to retrieve classified documents. Classified documents that were well-secured in a locked safe. The documents were taken out of their boxes and scattered around the floor to give the impression that the former president — personally a legendary neatnik — had been careless and sloppy with the documents. Documents that he, as president, had the authority to declassify.

Then, lo and behold, the news emerged months later that then-Vice President Joe Biden had taken documents from his time as VP and stored them in decidedly sloppy fashion in his Wilmington, Delaware, garage, in the library at his home, and at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Center. As vice president, Biden had no authority to declassify anything.

And now?

Now Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, newly installed as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has issued a demand to the self-same Biden Justice Department for, per Fox News, “all documents and communications regarding the appointment of [Special Counsel Robert] Hur and between the DOJ and the FBI related to the classified materials” that were found at the president’s home and the Penn Center.

And the response from the self-same Biden Justice Department that conducted a highly publicized raid on Mar-a-Lago? Fox headlined it well: “DOJ tells Jordan disclosing info on Biden documents probe to Congress would jeopardize investigation.”

The Fox story reports:

The Justice Department told House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan on Monday that it could not disclose information related to the special counsel investigation into President Biden’s improper retention of classified documents because doing so could jeopardize the probe.

Jordan, R-Ohio, launched his first formal investigation as chair of the House Judiciary Committee into Biden’s “mishandling” of classified records and the DOJ’s investigation.

Jordan announced the panel’s investigation after Attorney General Merrick Garland picked former U.S. attorney Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate the matter—escalating it to a formal investigation from a mere review as more classified records were discovered at the president’s Delaware home.

In a letter to Garland, Jordan and Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., demanded answers on the appointment of a special counsel, and questioned the alleged concealment of information by the DOJ. Jordan is demanding all documents and communications regarding the appointment of Hur and between the DOJ and the FBI related to the classified materials.

For a comparison of how this game of double standards is played, here’s that Fox headline again: “DOJ tells Jordan disclosing info on Biden documents probe to Congress would jeopardize investigation.”

But when the documents in question were the Trump documents seized at Mar a Lago?

Here’s the headline from the Post Millenial: “Contents of top secret documents seized in Mar-a-Lago raid leaked to WaPo.”

Got that? After conducting a much-publicized raid on Trump’s home, putting out staged photos of classified documents spread all over the floor, and leaking endlessly about the contents of the papers found at Mar-a-Lago, the Biden Justice Department now refuses to provide the Biden documents to the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee for an official and decidedly serious congressional investigation.

What’s going on here, you might ask?

What’s going on is the ever-constant war on conservatives as run by this or that group of liberal elites. The battles of this war can pop up anywhere.

Today, it’s the Biden-run Justice Department refusing to treat Biden’s documents as it treated Trump’s documents and denying those Biden documents to Congress.

Yesterday, it could be AT&T and DirecTV silencing Newsmax

The day before, it could be colleges banning conservative commencement speakers.

Then there were the constant efforts to remove the late Rush Limbaugh from the air and the targeting of Fox hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. And as mentioned in my column headlinedRally for Newsmax,” The American Spectator itself was the target in the 1990s.

All of this and so much more is, in fact, all of a piece.

The hard fact here is that at almost every turn — the corporate private sector, the federal bureaucracy, academia, the world of sports, you name it — there is a constant move to silence conservative dissent from the worldview of the far left.

But today’s issue is the request of the duly elected chairman of the House Judiciary Committee being blocked by the left-wing partisans of the Biden bureaucracy.

Suffice it to say that with the legendarily tenacious Jim Jordan in the House Judiciary Committee chair, you have not heard the last of this.

What the DOJ is about is a coverup — And Jim Jordan is on the case.

Stay tuned.
