So what is he hiding?

After making much in an interview with a publication for the Yale Divinity School about his desire to bring YDS values to Washington, Chris Coons has suddenly gone silent as a church mouse. Coons, of course, is the self-described “Bearded Marxist” (from a college article at Amherst) who is now the Delaware Democrat opposing the GOP’s Christine O’Donnell for the U.S. Senate.

The liberal media pounced on O’Donnell after her surprise win over the Establishment-favored Congressman Mike Castle. They are ignoring Coons.

It is increasingly clear why. After looking into Coons’ love affair with the Marxism-as-Christianity “liberation theology” and specifically his volunteering for the South African Council of Churches, the Coons Yale Divinity School interview surfaced. It is clear the “Bearded Marxist” article was not, as Coons and his liberal media friends have tried to portray it, any kind of a joke.

After a serious look here at The American Spectator at the courses, assigned reading, and teachers of Yale Divinity School — Coons clammed up. Suddenly Coons has gone silent on the entire topic.

Five e-mails and a follow-up phone call from The American Spectator to the Coons campaign have been ignored. The request? Since Coons’ liberal friends have made much of a high-school date by O’Donnell with a guy into witchcraft, did Chris Coons take the “Witchcraft” course the school offers? How about the “Queer Worship,” “Feminist/Womanist/Gendered Theologies” or “Introduction to Christian Ethics II” courses? The latter featuring readings by Black Liberation theology guru James Cone and social justice evangelist Ronald Sider? If not, what specific courses did Coons take while getting his Master of Arts in Religion at YDS — graduating in 1994. Who were his teachers? What was the assigned reading?

The kind of socialist values taught in these courses have a direct bearing on Americans since Coons insists he will bring these values to Washington with him.

But the once voluble Coons is suddenly doing the old Nixon stonewall routine — simply refusing to answer any questions even as questions pile up about just what he was taught and by whom while at the Yale Divinity School.

Sean Hannity has picked up the questioning now, raising the questions on both his radio and Fox News television shows. 

Where is the rest of the media? Is it any wonder Americans have come to rely on Hannity, his talk radio friends and Fox News to learn the real truth of what’s going on? With little over a month to go, Coons is rapidly demonstrating that he has no intention if elected of serving in the U.S. Senate with the transparency and sunlight which Americans demand. So the questions keep piling up.

Meanwhile, the latest Rasmussen poll has O’Donnell gaining steam — now only nine points behind Coons.

Maybe this explains the abrupt Coons stonewall — and the silence of his liberal media friends?
