Actor Martin E. Brooks passed away yesterday of natural causes. He was 90.
Brooks is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Rudy Wells on both The Six Million Dollar Man starring Lee Majors and The Bionic Woman starring Lindsay Wagner. In fact, Brooks and Richard Anderson (who played Oscar Goldman) became the first actors to play the same character on two different networks with The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman on ABC and NBC, respectively.
After serving as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division in WWII, he embarked on an acting career and appeared in TV shows such as Gunsmoke, The Fugitive, The Wild Wild West, Mission: Impossible, Night Gallery, MacMillan & Wife and Dallas (where he was suspected of shooting Bobby Ewing; only a dream folks). Brooks also acted for many years on Broadway and last year released a CD called A Life Filled With Love, a collection of previously unreleased songs he recorded in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
