The Jerusalem Post reports:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Thursday that there were no “good signs” that peace talks with Damascus would be conducted in the near future and that he “firmly believes and trusts” that US President George W. Bush would not pressure Israel to open talks as recommended in the Iraq Study Group report presented Wednesday to the Bush administration. Olmert further rejected the linkage between the US problems in Iraq and the Arab-Israeli issue.
