After spending much of the article explaining why the expansion of SCHIP represents a teeny-weeny amount of money, he writes that: “This battle is central to the long-term goal of universal coverage.” Make no mistake that SCHIP is a trojan horse for the left. While I agree that the slippery slope argument isn’t the best way to win over the general public, it is essential to emphasize the point to wayward Republicans who are inclided to support the measure.
