It took five hours to decide, but Donald Trump won the Vermont Primary edging Ohio Governor John Kasich by just under two points. With 85% of the vote counted, Trump edges Kasich 32.5%to 30.7%.
This is closest Kasich has come to winning any contest. But this will be remembered as the seventh state that Trump has captured on Super Tuesday. Kasich’s effort will be but a footnote.
Still, Kasich will stay around for another two weeks because he does have a plausible chance of winning Ohio.
