In his column today, Quin Hillyer points to John Ashcroft as one of the leading picks to be John McCain’s runningmate. But for all of his advantages, I don’t see how McCain could pick somebody who is so identified with the Bush administration without providing Obama the ability to easily make the case that
McCain represents Bush’s third term.
