1. Rudy has a new ad and a push in NH to make a run at a good showing there and re-establish his presence in the race. His theme: naitonal security and defending us against the bad guys. He also announced a Surge plan for Afghanistan.
2. McCain folks send around another poll showing him leading in NH by six points with everyone else far behind.
3. Some are suspecting a media pile on against Romney. If anyone has reason to gripe it is Thompson or perhaps Huckabee who has had nearly unanimously critical coveage for weeks. (And did I miss the media apology to Rudy for making a mountain out of not even a mole hill about billing practices in NYC? Actually Chris Matthews had the class to do just that.) But isn’t this all small beans compared to what is coming once there is a nominee on both sides? Assessing who can stand up to the media glare, defend himself and not whine would seem to be a useful exercise for GOP voters who would like to win in November.
