Washington Post Poll
There are a few interesting tidbits from the Washington Post poll. The top issues(combining first and second choices) for voters from both parties: Iraq, Jobs/economy, Terrorism/national security, and immigration. On favorable vs. unfavorable: Hillary 50%/46%, Obama 51%/36% McCain 43%/42%, Rudy 50%/40%, Thompson 33/37(31% no opinion), Romney 28%/41%(31% no opinion). Rudy leads his nearest GOP rival by more than 25 pts in the strongest leader and best chance of getting elected categories but barely edges McCain in reflecting the party’s core values and in best able to handle Iraq. Romney’s biggest problems(trailing Rudy, McCain and Thompson): strongest leader(7%), best chance of getting elected(9%) and best able to handle Iraq(6%). Democrats enjoy large advantages over Republicans in best able to handle a list of issues(including taxes) except for terrorism where Republicans lead by a single point.
