This report is pretty stunning, even by CNN standards. (Via Hot Air).

Sheesh. The anti-Tea Party tantrums are so pathetic.

What are they so scared of??

Greg Gutfeld had it right. The left/libs fear what they don't/can't control.

Ellis Wyatt| 4.15.09 @ 5:07PM

How about the CNN reportertrying to make some kind of irrelevant point that the State of Illinois is getting $50 B. Does she now realize that money has to come from taxpayers present or future? There is a reason CNN has the dismal ratings it does.

Jason E. Johnson| 4.15.09 @ 5:18PM

I watched this on CNN this morning. It was hilarious to see the reporter start arguing with the people in the crowd. One exchange went this way:

CNN: Why are you protesting?
Protester: High Taxes and Govt. Spending.
CNN: But don't you want to get a refund from Obama and the Govt.?
Protester: Not if we have high debts and more job losses.
CNN: But you should want the government money?
Protester: I want the government to stop spending.

CNN: Well, it looks like we just have a bunch of white, angry people that do not know what they are protesting.

That is not a joke, she actually said this. It was funny to see her try and argue instead of report.

Always independent| 4.15.09 @ 5:23PM

"Well, it looks like we just have a bunch of white, angry people that do not know what they are protesting. "

This is a rascist remark. Twit should be fired!

DGHoodini| 4.15.09 @ 5:24PM

How about asking *her* where she thinks that $50 Billion dollars Obama is being so generous with, came from?

hmm_contrib| 4.15.09 @ 6:04PM

So all of these people took to the streets to protest the loss of liberty and to protest taxes when Bush and the GOP spent us into a hole? That debt was equally reviled , right? These protestesors were completely consistent on the debt left by the GOP presidents? DGHoodini, where do you think the GP earmarks and Iraq war billions came from? Was that "tyranny" and "fascism" too?

CH| 4.15.09 @ 6:13PM

Just another liberal bigot displaying her vaunted "liberal tolerance." Nothing new to see here.

JoJo Dog| 4.15.09 @ 6:14PM

Susan Roesgen at this protest rally argues with a man who dared put Obama's head on Hitler's body. However, back in 2006 at an anti-war rally, she joked around with a guy who wore a George W. Bush mask with a Hitler moustache and devil horns. You can make the call if she is just reporting the news or not by contrasting those two incidents.

gus| 4.15.09 @ 6:39PM

Maybe this bubble headed bleached blonde doesn't get it.
The gentleman does not want his 2 year old to have to pay back that FIFTY BILLION that Illinois is going to waste on more and more government. Is the concept too difficult for liberals to grasp?? WE DON'T WANT ILLINOIS SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE.

Anonononon| 4.15.09 @ 6:40PM

These people are not reporters any longer. They are partisan, paid-opinion hogs. They go out to show their "personalities" and play to those who agree with their corporation's agenda. I am shocked at what I just saw. While too often, reporters are actually "repeaters," these people are minor Geraldos and Springers -- only instead of their own show, they bully their way through an on-air segment.

GUS| 4.15.09 @ 6:45PM

This reporter is just another ignorant liberal.
She believes the Federal govt. giving $50 billion to Obama's home state is just hunky dorie. She has no clue where the money comes from, who will pay it back and how many more government dependant dead beats it will create.

Lance| 4.15.09 @ 7:05PM

So hmm_contrib...Are you saying that you agree with monster govt and monster debt...Regardless of party in charge...Republicans sucked at this also (see OUT OF POWER)...Dems are making stupidity a freaking artform...This is not about party's...This is about AMERICA...Makers vs Takers

Roy Mustang| 4.15.09 @ 7:18PM

The reporter seemed rather angry from an objective journalist.

Robert Belvedere| 4.15.09 @ 7:24PM

Mr. Klein...
If you think the gal from CNN was bad, check out this insufferable ass on the Boston Fox affiliate; instead of 'fair and balanced', we got sarcastic and snarky: http://www.myfoxboston.com/dpp/wildcard_9/test

carolyn| 4.15.09 @ 7:36PM

Here we go again...the conservative blogheads and pundits whipping up the unthinking masses yet again...don't take my money, don't leverage my kids future. Funny, where were these folks when the Bush administration was GROWING gov't, racking up gazillions in debt, squandering a surplus and spending Billions on a trumped up war, eh? And Republican politicians are more than happy to have a "cause" to rally around, since they have no solutions and are hog-tied by their own support of lousy policies from the past THAT GOT US INTO THIS QUAGMIRE of an economy. I DRINK tea, I don't throw it in the Harbor or on the lawn at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave or on the steps of the State capital. Silly, silly people, all fired up, years after it could have made a difference. Seig Heil? Hell, where were all of you in 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08? Feel free to make use of a new chant: Steep, baby, steep!

Roy Mustang| 4.15.09 @ 8:00PM

>>>Bush administration was GROWING gov't, racking up gazillions in debt, squandering a surplus and spending Billions on a trumped up war, eh?

Roy Mustang| 4.15.09 @ 8:04PM

Carolyn, why do you think Bush's approval rating was in the 20s? It was because we did not approve of his social welfare spending (Part D, bailouts, etc). If you liberals were as concerned about the debt as much as you guys pretended to be during the Bush years, we would also see Obama's approval ratings in the 20s.

MT| 4.15.09 @ 8:05PM

The Nazi liberals rear their ugly heads once more. Remember, Carolyn and Roy--TRUTH TO POWER!! Dissent is PATRIOTIC!! Obama's a fascist!!

MT| 4.15.09 @ 8:09PM

Sorry, Roy--didn't see your last post. Carolyn is the only Nazi.

MT| 4.15.09 @ 8:11PM

Carolyn's probably on welfare--no wonder she loves Obumbler.

martine| 4.15.09 @ 9:13PM

Reporter is too stupid to know that the feds are going to have to start printing up money to send to the states. Great.

Here in St. Louis voters said No to more taxes for our ineffective, bumbling light rail system. Guess what -- they're probably going to get fed bail-out money. So now all of America can help pay for the mess.

mary| 4.15.09 @ 10:00PM

hmmm..I dunno, something doesn't seem quite right here. Does anyone else think this looks like a fake? The guy just doesn't seem to have the right body language. The reporter was just too eager to engage him, when she was surrounded by other people who were smiling and seemed friendly enough...she seemed to look around til she spotted him. Dunno..just saying, doesn't look quite right to me.

Patrick Henry| 4.15.09 @ 10:24PM

Hey hmm_contrib...
Even an idiot Lib like yourself should be able to do enough basic math to distinguish between Bush's spending and Obama's. Check out the CBO report on your leader's spending and the long term damage it will do to the economy. Do you not understand the scale of Obama's spending, much of which is earmarks? And what's with you Libs still whining about Iraq? I guess America's winning that War really upsets you more than an increase at Starbucks. Now go back to your flag burning or dope smoking or whatever you Libs do for entertainment. And please, next time here try and show a little more knowledge than just regurgitating the talking points handed out at the Obama Jugend meetings.

Tailgunner| 4.15.09 @ 10:44PM

Pravda. That's all the MSM is now.

CBS shows KKK and Nazi flags during a hysterical piece on DHS' obscene hit piece criminalizing legitimate dissent, and now CNN reporters treat the DHS 'report' like a script.

This isn't funny anymore, folks.

That report is only the beginning......of what?

Jeremiah| 4.15.09 @ 11:02PM

You're right, Tailgunner--it ain't funny. It hasn't been for a very long time. ACORN is Obama's BrownShirt brigade, and a lot of people are NOT AMUSED!

Interloper| 4.15.09 @ 11:04PM

You rhyme with 'witch' Susan.

Jeeper| 4.15.09 @ 11:36PM

Please remember that a right wing REPUBLICAN was in office when the economy for two terms when the economy went in the downwar state that it is now in. So, no matter who would be in office now, taxes would be needed to help rebuild the nation...and help 'bail out' the companies that still gave out bonuses.

Jeeper| 4.15.09 @ 11:54PM

Yes, I caught my own grammar mistake. I also would like to say to Patrick Henry that Bush spent less according to the CBO report comment... Well he may have "spent less", but he should have done more on the domestic side to improve this country, which was NOT done in anyway. Yes both the democratic congress (in power at the time) and the Bush administration, along with the Banks new the housing makert was going to collapse soon, but nobody came up with a plan to even try to effectively try to fix it before the start. But, near Bush's last term was still was able to say that we are able to spend trillions on the war in Iraq, where I have a twin brother on his 2nd tour, and still think we were fighting the 'good' fight there without focusing the much more needed concentration in Afghanistan. This country is going to have to spend money to rebuild, and we as it's citizens are going to have to help, we can't all have our 500,000 homes and think everything will be "hunky dorry" just because our taxes low.

lynnrockets| 4.16.09 @ 12:02AM

We citizens do help--we have built this country--government is the blood sucker. And our taxes have never been low. You need to clear your mind, people like you are causing all of us to lose our liberty!! What crap are you reading--the Communist Manifesto?

MrPete| 4.16.09 @ 12:33AM

Jeeper, in addition, while yes GW was in office, but from '06 onward, congress was blue not red. The downturn was all blue.
So: we were also upset about GW's ridiculous spending. And even more upset as congress turned blue. Congress had an even worse rating than GW!
And now, it's over the top. I know plenty of folk who voted for Obama because he represented hope. They figured he couldn't possibly change very much. Now they greatly regret what they did.

Cory| 4.16.09 @ 12:55AM

Also on CNN, Rick Sanchez implied that ALL the protesters were racist!

You guys need to replace this vid for another one.. The vid title is Reporter Harrassed. Here is one with a better title... Reporter should be fired. here is the vids link

Scott E| 4.16.09 @ 3:28PM

I'd prefer someone to just say: "You stay classy, San Diego. I'm Ron Burgundy"

Swampfox| 4.16.09 @ 6:13PM

In watching the video, two things are blatantly obvious: 1) The CNN reporter is biased and 2) She has never taken a finance class in her life. She also hasn’t read her own company’s website. Otherwise, she might realize that the money for the stimulus is borrowed. No American will ever just “get” $400 dollars, and Illinois doesn’t just “get” $50 billion. Future taxpayers like the dad and his kid will be paying for that “stimulus” -along with all its compiled interest. In other words, presumed future taxpayer revenue is borrowed and spent now in the hopes that government spending will stimulate economic growth quickly, which will generate tax revenues sufficient to pay for future government needs and to repay the stimulus money borrowed today. Good luck with that.

Ron Fields| 4.16.09 @ 6:44PM

Susan Roesgen, the reporter brainwashed by the CNN and liberal believers is a total butt hole.... well thats the way I see her ... as only an ostrich keeps her head in the sand..... I gave 4 years of my prime life for her to say that ..... send her to Beiging to report.....

Jeeper| 4.16.09 @ 8:44PM

Well you guys keep saying CNN is baised, but never say FOX news is baised, because they are supporting your cause...... Too bad I really actually watch both networks and they both have their good anchors and really bad ones as well. I know you are your 'tea party', if I may call it that, is upset about the economy and the taxation and such, but the situation that the government is in power because of who voted for him. That also goes for the congress. Please keep that in your minds. Our freedoms much be stay is something that I will always agree with, but I also will sit on the fence on the two parties..

Jeeper| 4.16.09 @ 8:46PM

I meant to say that our "Our freedoms must stay free is something that I will always agree with, but I also will always sit on the fence on the two parties..

FreeAmerica| 4.19.09 @ 3:43PM

So pretty much anyone who is against the Tea Parties are Communist. CNN is a Commi. That woman is a Commi. When did the media start going against what the people had to say?

The era of journalists being neutral is long gone. This is the current reality and we have to live with it. Those who feel that there is hope, dream on.
