WASHINGTON — Nuts. The Democratic National Convention is over.
Watching Bill Clinton, Jean-François Kerry, Joe Biden, Barack
Obama, and all the other preposterosities — not least being the
widely under-depreciated Sandra Fluke — I fell under a spell. I
thought the convention would go on forever. There would be no need
for horror movies, action movies, X-Treme sports, cockfights, or
soap operas. I could enjoy them all in the comfort of my own home.
All provided by the Democratic National Committee, safely watched
over by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and probably
select units of the North Carolina National Guard. Yet the
convention ended, and now comes the surprise. President Obama
actually received a bump in the polls, a modest but a bump.
CNN was up 6 points. Gallup was up 5 points. ABC
News/Washington Post was up 1, and so it went until I came
across something called SurveyUSA/Civitas.
That poll had Mitt Romney up by 10 points, but I do not know who
they were polling or why? Possibly they were pulling our leg.
Remember, these polls came after the Democrats in
convention assembled voted against mentioning God in their sacred
document. Oh, sure, on the third voice vote the mayor of Los
Angeles, standing rather unwillingly at the podium, gave the vote
to God, but we all heard the vote. God lost. And there was the
bloody business about Jerusalem. The Democrats want Israel’s
capital elsewhere. Where I wonder. Finally, there was the
Democrats’ contrived controversy about a procedure that has been
uncontroversial among Americans since the 1960s, birth control! Do
the Democrats really believe that Romney is going to deny them
their birth control devices, even colored condoms? Those devices
are the Republicans’ one foolproof way to ensure suppression of the
Democratic vote. It is even more effective than returning illegal
aliens to their home country.
Frankly, the Democrats who came to Charlotte were about the most
unsightly mob observable in these United States in years. Any
breadline in the 1930s would have appeared more well dressed, and
certainly its members would be more representative of mainstream
America. Only an occasional group of Occupiers could have outdone
the Charlotte Democrats in sartorial splendor, and most of them are
certifiably deranged.
Yet in the end the President got his bump, and it came a day or
so after the Friday economic news came, all of it highly
unfavorable to him: job creation, down from July; Americans seeking
jobs, down from July, the percentage of Americans working or
seeking work, down to a 30-year low. As for foreign policy, while
Mr. Obama was wowing the gullible last week with his listless
poetry the Chinese and the Russians were snubbing Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton on her Syrian initiative.
Do not let these polls fool you. In 1980 similar polls showed
Jimmy Carter leading the Old Cowboy almost to the very end. Carter
was ahead of Governor Ronald Reagan by 4 points in late September,
by 8 points in October, and the Gallup polls had him ahead of
Reagan by 6 points in last days of the election. Reagan won by 9
points, sweeping 44 states. In 1988 Governor Dukakis at one point
led Vice President George H. W. Bush by 17 points. He lost by
almost 8 points.
How to explain it I cannot say with certainty. Some evidence
suggests that the pollsters poll a higher percentage of Democrats
than Republicans. Moreover, a recent poll from the Pew Research
Center is suggestive. The electorate is growing impatient with
pollsters calling them for their views on everything from
deodorants to odors. According to Pew, “the response rate of a
typical telephone [political] survey was 36% in 1997 and is just 9%
today.” My suspicion is that political polling has not been
reliable for years. Increasingly those who sit down with the
pollster are politically committed respondents.
So here is yet more evidence of the Taranto Principle. Just as
the media give Democrats the impression they are in the majority so
do the great polling organizations. So keep it up, Mr. President:
no to God, no to Jerusalem, and whatever message you want to send
out about birth control. Your foreign policy is a masterpiece,
especially in the Arab world. Your economy, well it is still Bush’s
economy.

I still believe that the Rank and File Private Sector Union Guys are gonna come out BIG for Romney. They see their Leadership LIVING LARGE while their Homes go Underwater. They see their Leadership Wining and Dining at the White House. They see the melted butter from their Lobster and King Crab, dripping from their Fat Mouths, while they sit down for Hot Dogs and Mac and Cheese, AGAIN.
Hundreds of Thousands of Union Men and Women out of work BECAUSE OF OBAMA.
His Illegal Drilling Moratorium in the Gulf, in Alaska, and Up and Down the East and West Coastlines. The REFUSAL to allow the XL Pipeline, despite his own State Department signing off on it, as well as his own EPA. (So why did he do it?)
He has Shut Down numerous Coal Mines. He has Shut Down numerous Coal-fired Power Plants.
We have Refineries that are not being Built, nor are they being Repaired.
Reagan got The Union Vote, and seeing as everything that's going on here, and around the world, is a Jimmy Carter Dejavu all over again - Gas Prices, Inflation, (That's right - Inflation - as in Everything Costs More) Unemployment Rates, Foreclosures, Bankruptcies, Homelessness, Embassies being Sacked, American Diplomats being Killed my Muslims, a Depleted Military with No Discernable Mission, No Morale, and No Love for this Weak Commander in Chief?
Did I mention the School Strike in Chicago, and is CHICAGO still a Dog Whistle Code Word for N*gg*r?

CJW| 9.13.12 @ 10:44AM
The Unions' leadership, like Trumka, are politicians who play golf at Burning Tree with the Dems, and all have big salaries and expense accounts. The regular workers, union members, are more patriotic and conservative, and do not always follow the endorsements of the union leaders. They voted for Reagan, Bush in 88, and GWB, and will vote for Romney because of the economy and weak leadership on foreign policy.
Jack in Wi| 9.13.12 @ 7:50AM
If it was just the economy Romney would probably win big. The difference between now and 1980 is demographics, among many other things. In 1980 this country was a far different place ethnically and morally. There is also the question of the candidates. Reagan was a real conservative with an extremely likeable way about himself. Romney is not very likeable, and not a conservative. He is member of the Bush, Cheney, Dole, gingrich gang that has led the country and party over the cliff in the last 2 decades.
Now he has embraced a pro-war, agenda pushed by his Neoconservative foreign policy team. they have led this country into disastr after disaster since Bush gave them an almost free hand on foreign policy 11 years ago. the list of their failures is long from Iraq, Afganitsan, nation building, new world wide commitments, the new democracy in the Middle East which was supposed, to guarentee Isreal's perpetual dominence of it's neighbors, no matter how many crimes they committ.
Well the fact is Romney is in severe trouble. It is because he is an inarticulate ninecompoop and a lot of the public can see it. His whole campaign is tax cuts and bailouts for my pals. his foreign policy is a disaster of endless war for Israel and expand the wars against anyone who breaks wind aimed in our direction. .
Jack in Wi| 9.13.12 @ 8:01AM
Romney needs the votes of independents, young people, libertarians, paleo-conservatives, and dissafected pro-life Palin people. He offers us nothing but more of the same dirty dish water that the Republicans have been peddling for the last 24 years. If he does not reach out and convince us he will at least try to do something different a lot of us are not going to bother to vote. I have predicted for months athat Obama will run as the peace candidate gain. Well he is and Romney is giving a great immitation of a warmongering incompetent. Romney should promise to pull out of Afganistan now and a least try to put out sone kind of new thinking on foreign policy. He won'td o that with the lunatics he has on his foreign policy team. He has promised to audit the Fed. But has downplayed it now. Well it is hugely popular and should be pushed. Will he change his campaign to at least try to get some of the votes he needs? Nah! He thinks he can bluff his way through on the economy alone and because he claims to be a better manager then Obama. We have 2 terrible candidates. Pray for the USA. We need it.
scotchieguy| 9.13.12 @ 9:04AM

Well, it's Obama and the Great Recession (altho it might be the Great Mini-Depression...
The men who have lost re-election lost because they HAD a good economy and it got worse under them. That is not the case for Obama - and that is why he will win.
Romney does not have a compelling argument with the economy, can't sell it and is terrible at campaigning and now has shown he's a neophyte in foreign policy and shows no ability to be Commander-in-Chief... but we should trust him? Not happening...

The Bush Recession ended 4 months into Obama's administration. He had nothing to do with its end. Since then (June 2009) more people have lost jobs than obtained them; the average American's living standards have dropped 5%; gas prices went from $1.85 to $4.00; and in just 40 months Obama has accumulated $5 trillion of new debt.
I'm not sure how people (other than federal workers) can say the economy improved since Jan 2009.

RichTex| 9.13.12 @ 2:57PM
I predicted several weeks ago that Romney would win 356 electoral votes, with Obama getting 182. I stand by that prediction.
Two things to remember about these polls. Most of them vastly overcount Democrats to the detriment of Republicans, but also much to the detriment of independents. One poll I saw had independents at just over 6% while polls of party affiliation show about 30% independents. And Romney has been winning independents by a substantial margin. The party affiliation poll also had Republicans at over 35% and Democrats at about 32%, but that same erroneous poll had Democrats at about 40%. Most pollsters seem to think it’s still 1974.
The other thing is the point Dick Morris has made. In his study of presidential elections going back decades, almost all of those polled as “undecided” actually end up voting for the challenger, by a minimum of about a 90-10 edge. So a poll which shows Romney and Obama tied at 45% each actually means Romney is ahead by the 10 point margin in the SurveyUSA poll Tyrell cites.
Purp| 9.13.12 @ 3:27PM

Purp| 9.13.12 @ 8:19AM
First, let me say that comparing Mitt the Twit with Ronald Reagan is an insult to the memory of Reagan. Mitt Romney is NO Ronald Reagan.
This article reads like a last gasp desperation to save a dying candidate. The right-wing doesn't really want Romney- they just don't want Obama. But it's clear his economic message falls flat and now it's crystal clear Romney is NOT ready to be Commander-in-Chief. Forget the 3AM call, I wouldn't be comfortable him answering the phone at McDonalds!
What an interesting article, one day after Mitt Romney clearly showed his amateur status regarding International Affairs and Foreign Policy. He really stepped in it yesterday, looking tentative, crass and small minded, speaking out before we had all the facts or that the incident was even over. No one has any idea what was happening clandestinely, nor would any government official tell us.
But there's Mitt the Twit, trying to score points but in doing so, may have dealt his candidacy a death blow with Independents.
Now as far as polls - well, Barack Obama has a 7 point advantage in the 5 day running Gallup Poll, over 50% (Just about where you want to be to win at this point in the campaign). Even RealClearPolitics, hardly an Obama bastion, has the President just shy of 50% in their average of polls.
This is NOT 1980, Romney is NOT Ronald Reagan and Obama is successful, and a far stronger, steadier and resolute Commander-in-Chief than Jimmy Carter.

Hey IdiotBoy
Maybe you forgot that Bubba was president for 8 years, never responded to the WTC attack in 93, the embassy attacks, the Khobar towers attack, the USS Cole attack, and refused to accept Osama when offered to us.
Gee, even a total idiot like you should be able to realize that Bubba created the situation for 9/11, just like Obama, with his weakness, has created yesterday's situation.
Are you really this stupid, or do you just post the Obama line as part of your $10 hour troll job?
Don't you have any pride to keep posting your drivel? Grow up and get a real job.

Who said anything about Clinton ... when you're reaching, you're losing.
Let me point you to books by Richard Clarke, who headed up the Terrorist Center in the White House under Clinton AND Bush and see what someone who ACTUALLY knows what happened has to say.
Idiot Bush had plenty of warnings ... he wasn't interested in "swatting flies", he waited and wanted to invade entire countries.

Hey moron, Clinton set the stage with his incompentece, just like Obama. You do not read or comprehend real well, do you?
There you go again, lying as usual. There was no specific warnings or evidence about 9/11, unless you are one of those truthers, purpie?, except the situation left by Clinton.

Actually, it was Reagan, who turned tail in Lebanon that emboldened the terrorists. See, it takes time Chuckles.
CJW| 9.13.12 @ 5:39PM
You are desperate, Obamaboy,
Since your argument that it is the fault of GWB is silly, you go to Reagan in 1983.
Try focusing on Clinton's eight years. Add turning tail, as you say, in Somalia when our soldiers were dragged thru the streets.
Or, Obama, apologizing and bowing to every muslim dictator, ordering our Marines at the Cairo embassy to not load their weapons, missing all the PDF briefings since Sept 6, and missing close to 50% of the briefings this year.
Yeah, he is on top of our national security. Those golf games, March basketball tournaments, fundraisers, Letterman, those are all more important than our security.
Run along, purpie, ask DebbieWS what you should say and blame. Maybe Nixon is at fault, or Ike, or Lincoln.
Idiot.
Nick| 9.13.12 @ 9:50AM
Yesterday, Burp blamed the late Ambassador Stevens for his own death, the death of 3 other Americans, and the attack on the Libyan consulate because they didn't apologize to a Moslem mob (hit squad?) for the American right to free-speech.

I'm relieved that he is handling the crisis - not Mitt the Twit who can't even say hello to Britain without causing the Prime Minister to cut him down.
Ya know, far more died in Afghanistan in one day than 4, and the Entire RNC and Romney didn't think it was important enough to even talk about it.

Yea, I believe the snakes in the grass media on anything they report like I believe Obama, the Clintons, the entire commie democrat party have the United States best interest in mind. Yes sirre, I believe this malevolence , bitter fifth column like I believe Obama loves those of us who cling to our GOD, guns and country. We should all be beyond OUTRAGED with this media - we should be fighting them with everything we have because they like the Democrats seek to destroy the America that those bravely fight to defend.

The key to this election is the Independent vote. Independents are looking for a credible leader with appropriate experience, not an incompetent, treacherous demagogue. They will put Mitt Romney in the White House, turn the Senate over to Republicans, and maintain Republican control of the House of Representatives.
megapotamus | 9.13.12 @ 9:44AM
A long memory is its own reward. Yes, Carter's defeat was a stunning development for the Democrats but then so was the discharge of McGovern. Same with Dukakis, Mondale, Kerry... really the Democrats are always expecting the nation to expel Republicans like ipecac. Obama's election was not even what they expected. Six points? But triumphalism is not in order at least out in public. Those hardhats, Catholics, evangelicals etc may well be WITH us or sufficiently AGAINST Obama but they still have to show up. Romney by landslide? I hope so but I have no crystal ball. Also the margin of fraud is a substantial hurdle. Let's be modest, persistent and consistent. With luck our candidate will do the same.

The Presidential candidate that a major party picks is reflective of the heart/core of the party. When one looks at the last three Democrat Party candidates it is most revealing.
Clinton: Liar, philander, corrupt (land and cattle futures deals), sexual abuser, sexual harasser, traitor (missile technology to China), perjurer, disbarred lawyer.
Kerry: Disgraced military officer, liar, traitor (met with North Vietnam leaders while still serving in the Naval Reserve), American hating protestor, gigolo, tax cheat.
Obama: Never had a private sector job, spent 20 years in a church that preaches hatred of whites and Jews, refuses to release his REAL birth certificate, seals all college records, refuses to release info about his trip to Pakistan as a youth, uses an obviously false SS#, raised by his CPUSA grandparents, mentored in his youth by a self-professed Communist agitator, fathered by a foreign communist bigamist, acknowledged his rapport with militant blacks and radicals while in college, political career launched in the home of two self-professed American terrorist, publicly stated he would side with the Muslims in time of conflict.
Why would any self-respectable, American loving Christian citizen ever vote for a Democrat????
Purp| 9.13.12 @ 11:19AM
Simple - Because we don't believe you ....
We can decide with our own eyes & ears who created prosperity and fairness for America and who wants war, voodoo economics and tax breaks for the rich...
You really think that by dissing 1/2 the country as un-American, you get any votes? Seriously? It's not fantasy football here, Bubba.

I feel comfortable dissing anyone who would vote for any of those three people who are so lacking in class or honor. Purp| 9.13.12 @ 12:25PM
It's insulting to be told you don't read history or use critical thinking... was that your way of getting a convert?
Perhaps this is what is wrong with Right Wing World... certainly the current Pres/VP candidates - you talk about honor, integrity, love of country and faith - but you lack it in how you treat others.
It's amazing to me as an older white man, how many angry old white men are Republicans (and young). Maybe that's because I chose my profession and business, am happy with my lot in life - and you are not.
Don't blame the government, Joe, go do something about it on your own. It doesn't matter who the President is regarding jobs or gas prices - but it does matter who can protect us best.

I'm old enuff to remember whenever going to Town, church, etc. at a minimum, men wore slacks, hard soled shoes, a collared shirt, jacket and hat. Women wore a dress, gloves, and hat. These conventions of respect were always honored. Recently, On invitation, I attend a church in appropriate attire-surrounded by people in t-shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. When entering an earthly house of the Lord, my best attire was expected. Maybe those around me wore their best-I cannot know. Room for a suit and tie, for church, must exist in their budgets. A lack of respect for our fellow man is the problem. More importantly, an absence of respect for authority and tradition is also evident. Society has not maintained these conventions and suffers accordingly. The basis of humanity is contained in these behaviors. They represent respect for society's excellence and a desire to personally participate in that pursuit of excellence. Society is an artifice based upon assumptions-everyone will obey the laws. Once enough people choose to not obey laws; society implodes. The Left forces Society to embrace a soft barbarism and other repugnant behaviors once taboo; for diversity and inclusion- punishments await troublemakers. Condoning the desecration of one's body is evidence the Left wishes to eradicate respect for self. When a person holds little regard for their body, convincing them to desecrate less personal items, traditions, and our fellow man is an easy task.

***In 1980 similar polls showed Jimmy Carter leading the Old Cowboy almost to the very end. Carter was ahead of Governor Ronald Reagan by 4 points in late September, by 8 points in October, and the Gallup polls had him ahead of Reagan by 6 points in last days of the election. Reagan won by 9 points, sweeping 44 states. In 1988 Governor Dukakis at one point led Vice President George H. W. Bush by 17 points. He lost by almost 8 points.***
I suppose polling comes under free speech protection, but really...isn't there some way we can outlaw polling? Maybe not polling for internal campaign purposes, but polling as used by the mainstream media, not to measure public opinion, but to push public opinion? Political news is almost unbearable to watch at this point in an election year, because the lead story every day is what the New York Times/CNN/CBS/Reuters/Quinnepac/The-Usual-Suspects polls says about the race, and in pretty much every case, the Democrat is ahead, regardless of how devastating the events of the world are to the Democrats' prospects. My sense is that the media polls are all hooey. It would be fine if few people paid attention to them or gave them any credence, but the political nerds seem to hand on every poll that's released, even when the ones that are obviously wrong.

No such thing - except in Right Wing World.
But your comment is EXACTLY why Romney will lose ... he's way too much a reminder of Dubya. Now, he's proving his military chops are just like Dubya, as if we should rule the world.

People like you have no intellectual honesty and your "Job" must be a government make work position for the handicapped. (It's fun to watch them work.) The Left has its new super secret strategy - they will flood RCP with garbage polls - so the AVERAGE favors Obama. All those polls over sample democrats. The % over sampled is increasing weekly to break even or lead by 1. It started with 5% and the last one I saw was 12%. These very same democrat polling firms had a "virtual tie" up til election day 2010. How'd you like them apples?
Purp| 9.13.12 @ 1:23PM
It didn’t seem to be a lot to ask, but when the crisis in the Middle East flared up, Romney turned out to have no restraining inner core. All the uneasy feelings you got when he went to London and dissed the Olympic organizers can now come into full bloom.
Feel free to worry about anything. That he’d declare war on Malta. Lock himself in a nuclear missile silo and refuse to come out until there’s a tax cut. Hand the country over to space aliens.
Louisiana Joe| 9.13.12 @ 3:05PM
In the words of that great American patriot, Hillary Rodham Clinton discussing the Democrat party’s criticizing of the Bush administration’s handling of the War On Terror, “I am tired of people calling us unpatriotic for speaking out about any administration”. So, when the Democrat Party criticizes a Republican administration it is OK but if the Republican party criticizes a Democrat administration it is un-patriotic. Works the same way with the debt I guess. If I keep reading Purp’s post I may get a smart as him/her/it someday.
Purp| 9.13.12 @ 3:12PM
The Republican Party isn't criticizing the President or his administration - Your crazy ass Rush's pundits are, some ... and there is a BIG difference.
The defense of Mitty by the Republican Congress is NOT deafening - or haven't you got the memo? Very quiet except for Jim DeMint ... very quiet.
In fact, today, even Mitty has moved on from criticizing the President after he got slapped down yesterday. He's over his head and was doing more damage than just shutting up. But it's too late - he's damaged any hope of foreign policy credibility. And with it, his election. What a dope.

Purp| 9.13.12 @ 7:09PM
Not at all ... you can congratulate each other for your brilliance - Romney is still losing, and the Republican Congress just extended the Budget until after the election ... Where's the spine in the Congressional Republicans to do what they say they will?
Nick| 9.13.12 @ 7:34PM
And, the Apologist-in-Chief still cares more about fund-raising than the KILLING OF FOUR AMERICANS, Burp.
And, the O'Bama regime is still lying about trying to GUT the work requirement from welfare reform, the true unemployment rate, and promising to keep open GM plants in Wisconsin.
According to Bob Woodward, O'Bama lets congressional staffers berate him in front of others. WHAT A LOSER!

If space aliens came for something they would take it and no one could stop them. Your comment is absurd.
PM Stanton| 9.13.12 @ 1:27PM
I'm sure you're correct that all but that one poll are wrong and that this election will follow the polling of 1980 and not the polling of the 7 elections since and that the polls are slanted toward Democrats in an era in which a significantly higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats have land phone lines (on which most polls rely). If only there were some measure, at some time even, weeks from now, to add up all the actual numbers and confirm what other commenters here have said--that that Romney has a landslide with well over 40 states. I guess will never know, so we will assume your thinking is always correct.
David| 9.13.12 @ 1:41PM
With the state of things, and BamBam's f_ck ups on so many things said and done, and the God and Jerusalem issues at the dem convention, Romney should be way up in the polls. And he very well may be, we just won't know until election day.
I have to keeping coming back to my firm belief, especially after Clinton won re-election, that I will never underestimate the stupidity of the American people. Remember, we have a couple of more generations who have now been educated in public schools. 47% pay no taxes, 50% get some form of government welfare, and the major media on the side of the dems. It is a lot to overcome.
David| 9.13.12 @ 1:45PM
And Purp, Romney was not handed anything by his father. Romney worked for what he has. Do a little research, or simply just listen for a change instead of spouting off your crap and you may learn that.
The one candidate in this race who has been handed everything his entire life is the Boy. Never earned any of his positions or titles - just one example, the Nobel Peace Prize - yep, he sure deserved that, didn't he? What the f_ck did he ever do to become prez? Even Hilly and Biden said that only thing he ever did was give a speech in 2004.
PM Stanton| 9.13.12 @ 3:26PM
ah worked for everything...like Donald Trump...after Daddy's money bought his education, his connections and his first job, he then lost it all and then restarted again...mostly with board memberships based on his connections. I am sure having his father's ear also was of no interest to anyone.
Meanwhile, Obama's Harvard education and Law Review (top ranking) raised by a single parent of middle (albeit upper middle) class upbringing and then working as a community worker is not being handed anything. However, you are correct, he was handed the Prize--in fact that's what they call it. It is generally acknowledged that that prize was given to the USA for turning a page from Bush and voting for Obama, but calling that undeserved is one reasonably accurate statement from you.

Not really - he borrowed money for college from his father and Bill Bain gave him Bain Capital to run with a golden parachute if he failed.
Never took a risk with his own life or money. Cushy life and out of touch.
He's probably a good man, a fine Bishop of the Mormon Church - but he's out of his depth and should go back to his Bishoprick.

I vaguely remember the statistical concepts of validity, objectivity and reliability. When these are met, the stats have meaning and are useful ... they approach something like the TRUTH. Sorry, but I don't understand the concept of a Democrat or Republican "pollster". Who can you trust? From where I stand, nobody!
Carl Peter Klapper | 9.13.12 @ 4:48PM
The choices on those political polls are slanted to what the polling organization wants to hear. Specifically, they do NOT want to hear responses from people which indicate they know the difference between income and wealth -- and that income inequality is the main and most natural way of correcting wealth inequality -- or which indicate they know the difference between health insurance and health care. Nor have I seen revised polls indicating that my comments made it up the chain. I have yet to see a poll which asks "Do you support or oppose the Democratic Upward Mobility Tax?" or "Would you favor abolishing health insurance and establishing Municipal Medical Departments?" This is just a flavor of the serious disconnect between the polling organizations and the people being polled.
When you add to this the ignoring of Doctors Paul and Stein, how accurate can these polls be? Why would ones vote in a multiple choice ballot correspond to their binary choice in a poll?
Carl Peter Klapper | 9.13.12 @ 5:05PM
Obama needs the votes of Progressives and Greens. He is losing them to Jill Stein. He also needs the votes of pacifists. He is losing those to Jill Stein and Gary Johnson. He also has been trying to get the Populist vote. This Populist is voting for Jill Stein and does not see any other Populist being fooled by Mr. Obama's empty and ignorant rhetoric.
Obama only has the vote of the racist Democratic base, which sees him as Harry Reid sees him: BARuncletomA.

The polls have to be wrong, period! It's illogical that Obama is actually ahead in the race. No matter how many college kids vote for obama, it won't make the difference. A good chunk of jews in Florida, just voted Red, making Florida Republican for sure. It's front page news obama snubbed Bibi, but he is going to meet the muslim brotherhood. He's a nut.
Black Christians, libertarians, independents, Reagan dems, more jews, some union democrats, and most of the evangelicals aren't voting for obama. How can obama win?
Purp| 9.13.12 @ 5:41PM
'cause nobody wants Romney, even holding their nose, he stinks. ... no one wins when they are the "lesser of 2 evils" .. it doesn't work that way.

Andrew P111| 9.13.12 @ 9:00PM
The college kids aren't voting for Obama this time, but the rest of the Obamacans still are. That IS the problem.
And Obama expanded the SNAP rolls by 2x and the Disability rolls by 4x. The SNAP recipients have to be poor so they would vote for Obama anyway, but the new Disability recipients are formerly employed, middle-aged people. That is 10 million more people on Disability folks, and they are all voting for Obama to keep their benefits.
Abu Nudnik| 9.13.12 @ 9:41PM
There;s a problem with the Taranto Principle. According to the Suttovsky Principle, people want to elect a winner. That's why idiot salespeople tell me stuff I don't like is popular.

Ok let's take a look at why the democRATs win the battle of the polls.
Republicans have jobs and work part of the day. They have money so they go out after work and are not at home when the phone rings or if they are they see they don't know the caller and don't answer.
democRATs are on the public dole and don't work so they are always at home watching broadcast propaganda TV, drinking, smoking crack etc., eating cheetos and Twinkies, not much else to do so when the phone rings they jump on the opportunity to talk to anything. Obama always promises them "MORE" so sure they say they will vote for him! If they remember, aren't too stoned or drunk, can remember where the poll is, can find the car keys, have gas in the car, the car will run, haven't finally found out all he does is lie.
That's why!

Today while at a women's college the Kenyan said he was born to a single mom! Single mom? What about Barack Hussein Obama Sr.? OH! If Sr. was his dad then "Jr." wouldn't be eligible to really be President! I guess the fake birth certificate is getting legs!
