Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen just told a skeptical group of reporters that he’s “confident” that his party would maintain control of the House of Representatives.
“We knew it would be challenging, but we also knew that people know the stakes,” Van Hollen told reporters gathered at the Democratic National Committee headquarters, boasting of higher than expected Democratic turnout. “I’m confident we’ll maintain the majority.”
Though he would would not offer any specific projections, he said it was a “mistake” for NBC to have already called control of the House for Republicans.
