Heh.
“‘F— you, Republicans’ was professor Ellen Lewin’s response Monday to the recruiting pitch from UI College Republicans.”
“Lewin, 65, later wrote another email to the leaders of the College Republicans explaining that she had just finished reading about ‘fresh outrages committed by Republicans in government’ when she received the pitch.”
Oh. Well.
Of course, dear, “It’s this war and that lyin’ son-of-a-bitch Johnson.”
I’d be a little disappointed if similar sentiments were not sent to Prof. Lewin and her kind. Followed, of course, with a Whew. Hey. Sorry about that. It’s just that I’d just read more about your wretchedness rationalized with hateful lying and double-standards. So surely you’ll understand.
Of course, Lewin’s excuse will work for her. It would not fly for a conservative. But with conservatives largely purged from academic careers thanks to the mindset illustrated by Lewin and that she’ll at most wind up with a slap on the wrist (soon followed by her own department in Conservative-Driven Rage Studies), that’s not really a concern, is it?
Icing the cake, “Lewin also chastised the chairwoman of the Iowa Federation of College Republicans, UI junior Natalie Ginty, for calling her by her first name in an email complaining about the vulgarity.
‘She referred to me as Ellen, not Professor Lewin, which is the correct way for a student to address a faculty member, or indeed, for anyone to refer to an adult with whom they are not acquainted,’ she wrote.”
Respect is earned, Ellen. Get well soon.
