I just want to wish Phil Klein the best of luck with his new gig at The Washington Examiner (an old haunt of mine). He’s leaving a good place to go to a good place. His work at the American Spectator will be greatly missed. Thorough, thoughtful, and fair-minded, his reporting is first-rate. One thing he gets too little credit for: Long before defeating Obamacare became THE cause celebre for conservatives, Phil was out there doing ground-breaking work on health-care legislation and on the dangers of what would soon be coming down the pike. His work proved an essential resource when the battles really heated up, because he had done so much to lay out the issues in such a cogent form. The conservative movement owes him thanks for that work; it helped immeasurably in rallying the citizen’s movement we have seen in the past two years against Obamacare and against intrusive government in general.
Again, good luck to Phil in his new endeavors.
