Aaron’s otherwise wonderful tribute to a now-deceased Bataan Death March veteran is slightly off. As my friend Kate notes, Mr. Brown was the oldest, but not the last: There are other remaining survivors:

In fact, the American Survivors of Bataan and Corregidor still meet annually, though their numbers are dwindling. Mr. Brown, indeed, was the oldest survivor.
