It’s difficult to escape the conclusion that President Obama’s jobs bill and deficit reduction are at best only secondarily about jobs or the deficit. Their primary intended purpose is rather transparently to dare congressional Republicans to vote against a “jobs act” and a millionaires tax, and then use these votes against them next year.
