More great reasons why the owners are the bad guys in the NFL dispute. From Duncan Currie at NRO. And a brilliant series of columns on the subject by Sally Jenkins at the Washington Post. Also see this by Bill Simmons of ESPN.
Again, I repeat, I have opposed the players in EVERY sports “labor” dispute in my lifetime. I am disposed to think it’s silly to strike when you are making millions. But this isn’t a strike that’s coming. It’s a lockout. And it’s against a union that is NOT being unreasonable. The fans are the ones getting rooked. The fans, and the taxpayers who subsidized the new stadiums for the billionaire greed… er owners.
Fie on the owners. And that’s putting it nicely.
