This item from Politico’s Morning Energy is classic greenie, ‘screw the environment I’ve got a political gesture to make!’:
LET THEM PLAY – Ed Markey isn’t happy about the National Park Service’s decision to bar the solar decathlon from D.C.’s National Mall this fall. The decathlon, a DOE contest where schools compete to build the best solar-powered homes, has displayed its finalists on the mall since 2002, but this year the park service denied organizers a permit because it said the event would conflict with a plan to restore the mall’s turf, which has been trampled by concerts, marches and a complex intern mating ritual known as “kickball.” Markey sent a letter Friday to Ken Salazar asking him to reverse the decision, saying the decision runs afoul of the administration’s “win the future” clean-energy initiatives.
I wonder if the litter will be as bad as the Left’s standard gathering of the Mall?
It also offers amusing parallels to their attitude toward the economy and industry that my CEI colleague Fred Smith calls an insistence that they must teach the grass to grow, instead of lifting the rocks off of it.
