Legislative Darkness from Upton
by

People are starting to question Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton’s amazing failure so far to allow committee mark-up of a bill to reverse the outrageous, idiotic, insulting, unsafe, expensive ban of regular incandescent light bulbs. Maybe people also should ask why Speaker Boehner and the entire leadership team have not forced Upton to mark up the bill, much less bring it to the floor, pass it, and send it to the Senate. A simple, stand-alone bill, if written carefully, could be as little as two lines long.

People out here in the hinterlands really do care about this issue. If the ban actually goes into effect January 1 of next year, there will be holy heck to pay.
