Issa Rips DOJ in Hearings
by

The sparks flew today in the House Oversight Committee hearings as Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) chastised high-level Obama Justice Department officials for allegedly being aware of the sale of high-power weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Issa likened the scandal to Iran-Contra. The committee heard from four ATF agents who contradicted administration testimony. Issa had already released emails that that were at variance with assurances given to Congress.

It heats up from there. Issa demanded to know who authorized Operation Fast and Furious. Ronald Weich testified that this was the subject of an inquiry by the DOJ inspector general. Issa angrily argued that the Justice Department wasn’t handing over documents he had subpoenaed.
