Tim Pawlenty had a very solid record as governor. He would be a safe choice as the GOP nominee. He might be a pretty good president. After my column went up, my friend Scott McKay at TheHayride (in Louisiana) sent me his debate comments from Monday night in which his thoughts on Pawlenty are remarkably similar to my later thoughts.
