Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s senior presidential campaign staff resigned today. Spokesman Rick Tyler, campaign manager Rob Johnson, and strategists Dave Carney, Katon Dawson, and Sam Dawson all quit. Gingrich’s willingness to spend time on the campaign trail was reportedly an issue. Carney and Johnson have ties to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, which should fuel speculation about a Perry presidential run.
