Bob Ley, host of ESPN’s Outside The Lines, doesn’t like FIFA and its shenanigans one bit in the wake of seven of its top officials being arrested and charged following an FBI investigation into corruption, racketeering and money laundering charges earlier this week. Today, soccer’s international governing body convened in Switzerland to re-elect longtime president Sepp Blatter to a fifth term.
Noting that they were going back and forth between agenda items, Ley declared, “They are making it up as they go along.” Whereupon, Ley ripped up the FIFA agenda he had held in his hands.
Ley continued to lay into FIFA, “You’re watching Chicago writ large right now. There are streets being plowed. There is garbage being picked up. There are arms being twisted.”
Well, it would seem there was plenty of garbage picked up as Blatter was easily re-elected.
Hillary Clinton is no doubt taking notes.
