Newt Gingrich is officially jumping into the presidential race tomorrow, and Walter Shapiro argues that “Gingrich remains a curiously undervalued stock in the Republican presidential portfolio.” Shapiro may be onto something; the field is weak enough that it’s not impossible to imagine Gingrich outperforming the conventional wisdom.
