As a presidential candidate, that is. Donald Trump announced that he will not run for president in 2012, a decision likely forced by NBC’s decision to renew “Celebrity Apprentice.” Given the choice between celebrity and politics, Trump chose the former.

“I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election,” Trump said in a statement. “Ultimately, however, business is my greatest passion and I am not ready to leave the private sector.” Trump said the decision was difficult, though he exact same thing more than a decade ago when he passed on running for the Reform Party presidential nomination.
