The Code Red Rally has brought thousands to Capitol Hill today, and there have been important developments with Nancy Pelosi’s health-care legislation push.
Pelosi rejected Rep. Bart Stupak’s plea for a separate deal for pro-life Democrats, perhaps because she flipped “pro-life Democrat” Rep. Brad Ellsworth of Indiana:
“Congressman Ellsworth had the opportunity to stand on principle with this important decision,” said Charmaine Yoest, head of Americans United for Life, which ran ads in Indiana and urged Hoosiers to speak out. “However, Ellsworth’s vote now establishes for the record his support for taxpayer-funded abortion.”
There are unconfirmed reports that Pelosi actually has enough votes to get her “Democratic Deathmobile” up to ramming speed.
