My sister recently found out the baby girl she is pregnant with has a rare birth defect that has whittled the baby’s chances of survival down to a very, very small–perhaps nonexistent–percentage. She’s decided to carry to term anyway, and, unsurprisingly, her doctors have lost interest in her right to choose now that she’s decided to make the “wrong” choice. I’m not even sure how I feel about all the craziness surrounding this bizarre and tragic situation, honestly, and I do not in any way share my sister’s evangelical faith, but for those interested in her reasoning and bravery in the face of this, she’s collecting her thoughts here.
