For the most part, I’ve tried to avoid the Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner story. I’m not one to keep up with the Kardashians.

However, I cannot ignore this tidbit from George Neumayr’s piece on Jenner’s transition:

Given all the fawning over Jenner for his delusional preening, one wouldn’t be surprised if President Obama places a phone call to the former Olympian to congratulate him for his “courage.”

Frankly, I don’t think Caitlyn Jenner much cares if she gets a call from President Obama. After all when Diane Sawyer broached Obama’s stance on transgender rights the former Bruce Jenner told her, “I’m on the conservative side.” This would be almost as big a headline as Jenner’s gender revelation.

Grover Norquist recently said, “I spoke with Bruce Jenner at a Hollywood “Friends of Abe” dinner. He is a solid Reagan Republican. Leave him alone.” Jenner may have gone from man to woman, but she is still a Republican and a Reagan Republican at that. Caitlyn Jenner is still on the conservative side.

Frankly, our attention is better spent on Iran, ISIS and those among us who want to behead cops and place knapsacks with explosives besides children. I won’t pretend to understand what motivated Bruce Jenner to become a woman, but Caitlyn Jenner is the least of our problems. Grover Norquist is right. Let’s leave her alone.
