Jeff, get real. You should know bleeping well that the Boehner-punishing-Jordan story is utter nonsense — and, as Antle noted in an update, Boehner denied it entirely. Why is it nonsense? Because that’s not how Boehner operates. He’s a heckuva lot more subtle than that — and he sure as heck is politically canny enough to know that even if he is inclined toward revenge, he wouldn’t even hint at it while this vote hangs in the balance.

Look, I saw Boehner and his team absolutely close-up for years on the Hill, and this story would have Boehner acting as out of character as it would be if Bill Clinton walked away from a naked Bo Derek.

I’m not saying that Boehner won’t play hardball. I’m saying he’s never anywhere near so ham-handed.

What this is, is an attempt by somebody too-clever-by-half who SUPPORTS Jordan to turn the tables on the story of Jordan’s staffer trying to gin up pressure against fellow RSC members. But it’s cr@%. It’s not even close to being true.
