The latest Rasmussen poll of Republican primary voters shows Mitt Romney way out in front — and Michele Bachmann in second place at 19 percent. Romney wins 33 percent, Herman Cain is in third place with 10 percent, followed by Newt Gingrich at 9 percent, and Ron Paul at 7 percent. Another surprise is Rick Santorum tied with Tim Pawlenty at 6 percent. Rick Perry isn’t in the poll.
An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll taken earlier showed Bachmann at just 3 percent. That poll tested Sarah Palin (14 percent) and Perry (8 percent). Cain was at 12 percent, Paul at 7 percent, Gingrich at 6 percent, and Santorum tied with Pawlenty at 4 percent. It remains to be seen whether Bachmann got a post-debate bounce or Rasmussen is an outlier.
