Spectator readers thinking ahead to the Republican convention don’t seem to like what’s on the menu.
Earlier this week, we opened our Deadlocked Convention Poll (disclosures: Unscientific! Totally arbitrary! Highly entertaining!) to gauge where your support will fall if no clear nominee emerges before GOP delegates meet in August. With a few thousand votes now tallied, one choice stands out: None of the above.
Here’s the most intriguing poll result thus far, as of 2 p.m. today:
Should it come down to a brokered convention, which of these potential dark horses would you like to see emerge?
Other | 42.07% | |
Paul Ryan | 20.18% | |
Marco Rubio | 14.35% | |
Mitch Daniels | 9.92% | |
Chris Christie | 8.00% | |
Jeb Bush | 5.48% |
That’s a whole lotta stewing dissatisfaction.
We’ll leave the poll open over the weekend, so there’s still time to cast a ballot. Full results — which will show who the real, “other” winner is — will be announced on Super Tuesday morning.
