A Saturday with My Goddess

Saturday

It’s a perfect day today here in L.A. Temperatures in the mid 70s. Blue skies, mild, encouraging breeze coming from the mountains towards Alex and me as we watch one of my wife’s endless cop shows. A light lunch at the Beverly Hills hotel as I watch children playing in the super blue water, and women wearing way too skimpy bathing suits.

I came home after lunch and there — as usual — was my wife for life, Alex, watching a murder mystery with her nurse. We tried to figure out what had made a sweet, lovely teenage wife and mother so provocative to her common law husband as to make him kill her by strangulation.

The decedent was a lovely woman. She had her first pregnancy at 13 and had three lovely kids by the time she was 16. Now she is gone.

This is “heart rendering” as Alex, my goddess wife, would say. I lay there in bed with my saint and thought of how she never provokes me or anyone else. She has a perfect temper. She’s as sweet as Tupelo Honey. She’s as sweet as honey from the bee. I am so blessed to have her in my life and in my heart. She is my goddess.

I got her as a uniquely glorious gift from Jehovah.

She is an irreplaceable angel. Now I’m at my computer writing about her. She’s the real thing.

Thank you, God, almighty, for Alex, my saint.
