A Few Quick Debate Thoughts

Tim Pawlenty should have either stuck by his attack on Romney or not attacked in the first place.

I see newly declared candidate Michele Bachmann as primarily a  threat to Pawlenty, by making it harder for him to establish himself as the conservative alternative to Romney, and Ron Paul, by eating into the kinds of mainstream conservatives who might consider a vote for Paul.

Newt Gingrich was good, but perhaps not good enough.

Herman Cain was less good, but I don’t think bad enough to have any lasting impact.

Mitt Romney turned in a fine frontrunner performance.

The Paul campaign was the most active on the ICYMI/oppo research front during the debate.
