A few days ago, actor John Malkovich saved a man’s life in Toronto. Jim Walpole and his wife Marilyn were visiting from Ohio and had just finished eating at a restaurant. Shortly after exiting, Walpole fell and ended up slashing his throat on some scaffolding.
Out of the blue, a man came over and stopped the bleeding with his scarf. That man was John Malkovich. No word if Malkovich suddenly emerged from a portal.
One person commenting on the story at the CBC’s website wrote, “This whole incident sounds like a movie title: Being (Saved by) John Malkovich”.
Malkovich is currently appearing in a play called The Giacomo Variations at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre. The Walpoles were unacquainted with Malkovich’s work but now plans to become familiar with his filmography and will probably become his biggest fans. Malkovich has appeared in films such as Places in the Heart, The Killing Fields, Dangerous Liaisons, Con Air and, of course, Being John Malkovich.
BTW, Malkovich is known to have a bit of a conservative streak in him.
