Zimmerman Bombshell

It’s not as if I care very much about the George Zimmerman murder trial, but it is all over the news, so allow me a brief comment:

If today’s testimony by Zimmerman’s former neighbor, George Good, does not offer “reasonable doubt” for this jury, then the prosecution did a remarkable job of picking the stupidest possible jury.

In short, Good said that it appeared to him that Trayvon Martin was on top of George Zimmerman, striking him with a martial arts-style attack. These statements match Zimmerman’s statements made to the police immediately after the event.

Other witnesses have said other things, though (in my view) with somewhat less conviction. But the burden of proof is on the state so unless the state can discredit Mr. Good as a liar, it is hard to see how a rational jury could convict.

As for jury composition, it is probably against Zimmerman that they are all women, but probably in his favor that there are no black jury members.
